SPS DELIVERS CHAIN-WIDE RESTAURANT POINT-OF-SALE SYSTEM CAPABILITIES
Buffalo Philly's Franchising, LLP, of
Woodbridge, Virginia, and Foster's Franchise Concepts, Inc., of Haymarket, Virginia,
recently selected SPS EntréeAccess for chain-wide use at their restaurants. EntréeAccess
is Software Performance Systems, Inc.'s (SPS) point-of-sale (POS) product offering for
the multi-unit restaurant market. Both Buffalo Philly's and Foster's are running
EntréeAccess in their corporate-owned restaurants and have plans to require all future
franchisees to use the EntréeAccess restaurant POS system.
Peter Kenaga, Operations Manager for seven Foster's Grille restaurants, has tried other
POS systems in the restaurants he manages. "Our previous POS system had a 'poll to
corporate' setup, but it was unreliable and we still had to travel all over Northern
Virginia to each restaurant just to do simple things like changing menu pricing,
discounts, employee data, and the like. With EntréeAccess and its central point-of-sale
repository, we can now perform those tasks right from our own desks. We can also get
sales, inventory, and time and attendance reports for all our stores at any time,"
Peter explained.
"At SPS, we recognized that most restaurant point-of-sale systems were based on a
'single unit' oriented design. We designed EntréeAccess to leverage today's readily
available high-speed Internet connections, allowing our POS system on the restaurant
floor to mirror its transactions to a central repository in real time. This allows our
multi-unit restaurant customers to access and program the POS environment for all of
their restaurants in a central place," said Tim Dorsett, Vice President of SPS's EntréeAccess division.
Chris Roth, President of Buffalo Philly's Franchising, has already seen an improvement
in the operation at his showcase store. He states, "With EntréeAccess's integrated
real-time credit card authorization module, we can authorize credit card purchases in
three seconds without having to dial up the service for each transaction. We have also
shaved a good amount of time off our payroll processing by using EntréeAccess's built in
time and attendance system. At the end of the week, we simply run the Payroll Report from
the EntréeAccess back office program and give it to our accountant. No more adding up
hours manually like the old system. EntréeAccess is much quicker and extremely accurate."
